About the position

At Boston Scientific, we are seeking a passionate, innovative, and results-oriented Learning Design Specialist to join our team. This role is pivotal in shaping the learning experiences of our urology sales organization. As a Learning Design Specialist, you will collaborate with Sales Training Managers (STMs), product marketing, and other cross-functional partners to develop engaging and effective learning solutions tailored to the needs of field-based learners and the business. You will also work closely with STMs to develop and implement training workshops for National Sales Meetings and other necessary meetings as determined by the commercial teams. This position requires an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, growing organization and demonstrates agility and adaptability. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing high-quality learning materials with clear performance-based objectives, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training materials, videos, simulations, and other multimedia assets. You will conduct needs assessments in partnership with Marketing, Sales, and Operations teams to identify learning objectives, audience characteristics, and performance gaps, using data-driven insights to inform the design process. Additionally, you will create comprehensive learning curricula that align with organizational goals and objectives, ensuring that learning experiences are logically sequenced and appropriately scaffolded. In this role, you will design engaging and interactive learning experiences that leverage various instructional strategies and technologies, incorporating principles of adult learning theory and cognitive psychology to maximize learning outcomes. You will utilize Articulate360 to develop digital content for our LMS/LXP and collaborate with the Learning Technologist to deliver dynamic and interactive learning experiences. Quality assurance is also a key aspect of your role, as you will conduct thorough reviews and checks to ensure the accuracy, relevance, and effectiveness of learning materials, implementing feedback from stakeholders to continuously improve the learning experience. Project management is essential, as you will manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that deliverables are completed on time and within budget. You will develop evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness of learning interventions, analyzing data and feedback to identify areas for improvement and making recommendations for future iterations. This role is integral to the success of our sales training initiatives and requires a strong commitment to quality and innovation in learning design.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Learning Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years instructional design, curriculum development, and technical writing experience.
  • Proficiency with Articulate Storyline (or similar e-learning authoring tools) and learning management systems (LMS).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft product suite (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM), and learning theories.
  • Demonstrated ability to take the initiative and work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation in learning design.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new terminology (i.e., medical terminology, sales terminology).

Nice-to-haves
