About the position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a crucial role in delivering compassionate patient care and supporting the operations of the Orthopedics Surgery Unit at Rochester General Hospital. This full-time position involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, communicating patient needs, and providing essential nursing services to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Perform various treatment procedures and provide physical, educational, and emotional support to patients, friends, and families.
  • Supervise assigned team members.
  • Ensure concise, pertinent, and complete documentation using computerized medical record processes.
  • Ensure clinical areas are properly supplied and exam rooms are available and stocked.

Requirements

  • Valid LPN license from New York State Education Department (NYSED).
  • BLS - Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Associate of Science in Nursing.
