About the position
As a Level 1 Medication Aide (L1MA) at Provision Living, you will provide essential support and direct care to residents, administering prescribed medications in compliance with regulations. This part-time position requires effective communication and organizational skills to ensure the well-being of residents while working under the supervision of the Director of Nursing.
Responsibilities
- Participate in shift change meetings to communicate resident status or special needs.
- Administer prescribed medications and maintain related medical records under nurse supervision.
- Verify patient identity and document medication administration details.
- Take vital signs and observe patient responses to medications, reporting any unexpected reactions.
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Report changes in resident conditions to physicians and families, ensuring incident reports are completed.
- Collaborate with physicians and pharmacies to ensure proper medication orders and supply management.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare providers.
- Ensure secure storage of medications and manage inventory.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Current state Level 1 Medication Aide certification is mandatory.
- 2-4 years of experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
- Insulin certification preferred.
- Experience in a senior care community is ideal.
