The Solutions Architect position is a critical role within our organization, focusing on virtualization, storage, and network technologies. This position is designed for a Tier 3 level engineer who will operate at a near Solutions Architect level, guiding the team in making informed decisions and providing expert suggestions related to storage and virtualization technologies. The individual will play a pivotal role in the upcoming renewal process for key technologies such as VMware, Pure Storage, and Rubrik, which are set for renewal in approximately 12 months. This will involve assessing new technologies for potential integration or migration, as well as assisting in the actual migration process itself. A primary focus of this role will be on storage and virtualization migration experience. Candidates with strong backgrounds in technologies such as Pure, NetApp, Nutanix, HPE, Cloudian, and VMware will be highly valued. The successful candidate will also be responsible for handling support requests related to storage and virtualization, including escalation support for VMware/Broadcom issues, which have been a challenge for the team. In addition to storage and virtualization responsibilities, the candidate will occasionally assist the Tier 1 team with systems support across Windows, Mac, and Linux environments. This role will primarily involve higher-level problem resolution, including tasks such as setting up Active Directory from scratch. While networking is a lower priority, experience with Juniper switch upgrades will be beneficial. The ideal candidate will possess a strong personality and work ethic, demonstrating a go-getter mentality and a passion for problem-solving. This role requires someone who enjoys helping others and is willing to collaborate closely with IT management, senior leadership, and researchers. The work environment at TRI is complex and dynamic, offering significant opportunities for learning and professional growth within a unique organization.
