About the position

The L3 Network Security Engineer role focuses on managing and supporting network infrastructure across multiple cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, particularly in government cloud environments. The position requires expertise in network architecture, design, and implementation, with a strong emphasis on security best practices and collaboration with the InfoSec team. The role is based in Palo Alto, CA, and involves working in a hybrid remote setting, although candidates from the East Coast are not preferred due to time zone challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support all Network & Security Infrastructure running on AWS, Google Cloud Platform & Azure Clouds.
  • Ensure network stability and performance for On-Premises and Public Cloud networks.
  • Manage & support Gov Clouds associated security services like PAN, Firewall, etc.
  • Develop and deploy Network evolution roadmaps in both Gov and Commercial Clouds.
  • Partner with the Infosec team to ensure Security best practices are enforced in an effective and scalable manner.
  • Provide support for network infrastructure problems by monitoring the team's support queue, troubleshooting and diagnosing problems, identifying the root cause of critical issues, and ensuring corrective action is taken.

Requirements

  • 7+ years extensive network engineering experience in architecture, designing, and implementing enterprise solutions at scale using industry-standard networking solutions.
  • Proficient in AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform Public Cloud platforms.
  • Understanding of Enterprise Network design, including Data Center, Campus, Public Cloud, and Global WAN connectivity.
  • Hands-on experience with multiple hardware vendors, including Cisco IOS, NX OS, ASR, Meraki, Broadcom, Mellanox, Palo Alto Networks, and Fortinet.
  • Knowledge of network layer security, including Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), Network Authentication Systems, and VPN technologies.
  • Automation skills in Python and Terraform.

Nice-to-haves

  • Public Cloud Network Certifications
  • Experience with Load Balancers, Citrix NetScaler preferred, AVI Load balancer, NGINX, and HA proxy.
  • Understanding of Networking technologies: IPv4/IPv6, BGP/MBGP, VPN, L2 switching, and VxLAN.
