Responsibilities

• Learn job duties assigned to the Pre-Analytical Assistant I and understand how functions in Tech Ops and Specimen Processing work together.
• Identify problems with specimen types and missing information, and resolve or forward information for timely problem resolution.
• Understand compliance policies related to test ordering and research test order information.
• Meet quality and production standards within 6 months of completing training.
• Complete all required written documentation legibly and within the assigned time frame.
• Report to work on time and follow attendance guidelines, supporting department performance during coworker absences.
• Learn additional functions within Tech Ops and Specimen Processing for timely progression to the next level.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Medical background preferred, including medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory.
• Minimal data entry skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in a production environment.
