About the position
The Lab Assistant position at Decatur County Memorial Hospital involves the collection of specimens and clerical work within the laboratory setting. Responsibilities
- Draw specimens for testing
- Collect urine drug screens
- Conduct paternity testing
- Contact patients and doctors as needed
- Enter data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
- Retrieve data from the LIS
- File laboratory documents
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED
- 6 months of phlebotomy and/or medical laboratory experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills
- Certification in Medical Assisting or Phlebotomy preferred
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a medical laboratory setting
- Additional certifications related to laboratory work
