About the position

The Wistar Institute is seeking a Research Assistant to join Dr. Daniel Claiborne's laboratory, focusing on innovative research in cancer, immunology, and infectious diseases. The role involves performing laboratory tasks and experiments, particularly in genetic engineering of CAR T cells and studying their efficacy against HIV and blood cancers in humanized mice. Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of laboratory tasks and experiments related to CAR T cell therapies.
  • Conduct genetic engineering of Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T cells.
  • Manage mammalian cell culture techniques.
  • Execute in vivo testing of CAR T cell therapies in humanized mice.
  • Study T cell dysfunction and exhaustion in chronic viral infections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a science-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Laboratory experience, particularly in mammalian cell culture and assays.
  • Strong communication skills to work directly with the Principal Investigator.
