About the position
The Lab Manager/Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory, including the use of ChemDraw for creating chemical structures, managing chemical inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can work independently and effectively support research and development projects.
Responsibilities
- Use ChemDraw or other chemical drawing software to create detailed chemical structures of chemical compounds and input them into appropriate chemical registration systems.
- Update and maintain chemical inventory systems to accurately record, track, and store all chemicals.
- Collaborate with research and development teams to track and support ongoing projects and experiments.
- Manage laboratory budgets, including purchasing reagents, supplies, and equipment.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory activities/safety and ensure adherence to these protocols.
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in chemistry or related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience with chemistry and chemical registration systems.
- Familiarity with SMILEs, HELMs notations, and Mol objects.
- Experience with chemical inventory management and registration systems.
- Experience with detailed electronic notebooking.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in the use of ChemDraw.
