About the position

The Lab Desktop Support role is focused on providing technical support for lab computers and equipment within a pharmaceutical environment. This position involves system administration, desktop support, and ensuring smooth end-user computing operations. The candidate will be responsible for transitioning services from another supplier and will need to demonstrate strong customer service skills while managing IT hardware and software issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide desktop support for lab computers and equipment.
  • Serve as a system administrator for lab computing environments.
  • Transition services from another supplier effectively.
  • Support operating systems and related technologies.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and provide solutions.
  • Deploy Windows 10 and manage OS migrations.
  • Create and manage system images for lab computers.
  • Utilize ITIL processes and ServiceNow Tool for service delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience in desktop support and end-user computing in a pharmaceutical lab environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft operating systems (Windows XP, 7, 10) and MS-Office applications.
  • Experience with IT hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of network troubleshooting and SCCM patching.
  • Proficiency in imaging and creating system images.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and understanding of service delivery.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with Active Directory and antivirus tools.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes.
