About the position

Insight Global is seeking a Lab Instrumentation Engineer to support their customer in the Sarasota, FL area. This role is pivotal in designing, building, and controlling testing lab equipment and instruments. The engineer will collaborate cross-functionally with various engineering departments to determine and understand project needs and timelines. This position also involves leading design reviews for test equipment, ensuring that all specifications and requirements are met effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering principles and a passion for innovation in laboratory instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and build test lab equipment and instruments.
• Control testing of lab equipment to ensure functionality and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project needs and timelines.
• Lead design reviews for test equipment, ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Develop and implement testing protocols for various instruments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronics, software, or mechanical engineering/technology.
• 3+ years of experience as a Controls, Automation, or Instrumentation Engineer.
• Experience with LabView and programming test equipment in languages such as Python, C++, and C.
• Knowledge of test sensors including transducers and photovoltaic cells.
• Experience building RF test setups.
