About the position

The Hardware Engineer 2 position at ManTech International Corporation involves managing lab environments and providing hardware engineering expertise to analyze and resolve complex hardware systems issues. The role includes responsibilities such as lab resource coordination, hardware procurement, installation, and maintenance, as well as preparing engineering plans and specifications for hardware acquisitions. Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and manage lab environments, including system administrator responsibilities.
  • Coordinate lab usage and provision lab resources such as VMs, servers, networks, and storage.
  • Develop and enforce lab standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Analyze complex hardware systems and provide hardware engineering expertise.
  • Procure and perform acceptance testing on hardware equipment.
  • Provide preventative and remedial hardware maintenance support.
  • Deploy, install, and implement hardware both CONUS and OCONUS.
  • Prepare specifications for hardware by analyzing system requirements.
  • Conduct site surveys and prepare engineering plans and technical design packages.
  • Organize and direct hardware installations and document configurations.
  • Prepare site installation and test reports, ensuring user requirements are met.
  • Provide input on hardware components for system design, including end-user devices and servers.
  • Assist the Program Management Office in estimating and planning engineering tasks.

Requirements

  • Fourteen (14) years of experience analyzing complex hardware systems for SIGINT solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related discipline.
  • Five (5) years of additional hardware engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
  • IAT Level II Certification (Security+, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Visio or similar tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Support for Linux and Windows server and workstation environments.
  • Expertise in building and maintaining virtualization architectures.
  • Experience with collaboration and tasking tools such as Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to analyze hardware specifications and document practical designs for hardware components.
  • Experience in preparing installation guides and troubleshooting procedures.
