About the position
The Lab Supervisor at Iberia Medical Center is responsible for overseeing the clinical laboratory operations, ensuring the application of laboratory science principles to produce reliable diagnostic results. This role requires independent judgment and proficiency in both manual and automated testing across various laboratory sections, while adhering to regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise laboratory operations and staff to ensure efficient workflow.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.
- Maintain proficiency in manual and automated testing techniques.
- Utilize the Laboratory Information System effectively.
- Abide by all regulatory requirements and standards.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Medical Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or Biological Science.
- Certification as Medical Technologist by ASCP or NCA.
- Current license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist - Generalist with the LSBME.
- 12 months internship through a School of Medical Technology or previous MLT training.
- 2 years experience as a Medical Technologist.
