About the position

The Lab Technician position within the Microbiology Team at Zoetis involves conducting environmental monitoring and supporting manufacturing activities for animal pharmaceuticals. The role requires adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and regulatory procedures while preparing media for quality control testing and performing various biological tests. The technician will work under close supervision to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and contribute to maintaining the quality of products released from the facility.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and conduct Environmental Monitoring to support manufacturing activities and product release.
• Prepare media for Quality Control testing following batch records and GLP procedures.
• Perform sterility testing, water sample testing, moisture analysis, and other biological tests as needed.
• Prepare and sterilize glassware and laboratory apparatus in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor processes and alert supervisory personnel of known or suspected quality problems.
• Practice basic aseptic laboratory procedures as per training and SOPs.
• Assist in inventory management of laboratory supplies and equipment preparation.
• Decontaminate materials from laboratories via autoclave sterilization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or chemistry, or an associate degree with relevant experience.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
• Basic aseptic technique and understanding of microbiology.
• Excellent organizational skills and verbal/written communication skills.
• Competent in using Windows-based applications, specifically Excel.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with aseptic manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of MODA, SAP, LIMS, and Process Runner.
