About the position

The Laboratory Technician at Zoetis in Lincoln, NE, is responsible for conducting environmental monitoring and supporting manufacturing activities in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and regulatory procedures. This role involves preparing media for quality control testing, performing various biological tests, and ensuring the cleanliness and sterilization of laboratory equipment. The position requires adherence to strict protocols to maintain product quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and conduct Environmental Monitoring to support manufacturing activities and product release.
• Prepare media for Quality Control testing following batch records and GLP procedures.
• Perform sterility testing, water sample testing, moisture analysis, and other biological tests as needed.
• Prepare and sterilize glassware and laboratory apparatus in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor processes and alert supervisory personnel of known or suspected quality problems.
• Practice basic aseptic laboratory procedures as per training and SOPs.
• Assist in inventory management of laboratory supplies and equipment preparation.
• Decontaminate materials from laboratories via autoclave sterilization.

Requirements

• Two years associate degree in science or one to two years relevant experience with relevant science-based college courses.
• Basic Aseptic technique and understanding of microbiology.
• Excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in biological sciences/chemistry.
• Experience with aseptic manufacturing environments.
• Competent using Window-based applications, specifically MODA, SAP, LIMS, Process Runner, and Excel.
