About the position
The Lab Vantage LIMS Specialist will play a crucial role in the implementation, customization, and maintenance of the LabVantage Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for our client in Jersey City, NJ. This position requires a deep understanding of laboratory workflows and the ability to tailor the LIMS to meet the specific needs of the laboratory operations. The specialist will assist in deploying the system, ensuring it aligns with regulatory requirements, including GxP standards, and will provide first-line support to laboratory users, troubleshooting any issues that arise. In addition to system implementation, the specialist will be responsible for customizing and configuring LabVantage modules, workflows, and reports. Routine maintenance, updates, and upgrades will be part of the role to ensure optimal performance and reliability of the LIMS. The specialist will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, quality assurance, and laboratory personnel, to gather requirements and implement effective solutions. Continuous evaluation and optimization of the LabVantage LIMS will be necessary to enhance functionality, efficiency, and user experience. The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling them to convey technical concepts to non-technical users effectively. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, along with a keen attention to detail, are essential for success in this role. The specialist will also be responsible for providing technical guidance to a team of developers, conducting comprehensive code reviews, and ensuring process compliance within the assigned module. Participation in technical discussions and collaboration with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables will be key components of this position.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation and deployment of the LabVantage LIMS, ensuring it meets the specific needs of laboratory operations.
- Customize and configure LabVantage modules, workflows, and reports to fit the laboratory's unique requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance, updates, and upgrades to the LabVantage LIMS to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Provide first-line support to laboratory users, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to LabVantage LIMS.
- Ensure the LIMS meets all relevant regulatory requirements, including GxP standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, quality assurance, and laboratory personnel, to gather requirements and implement solutions.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize the LabVantage LIMS to enhance functionality, efficiency, and user experience.
- Provide technical guidance to a team of developers, enhancing their technical capabilities and increasing productivity.
- Conduct comprehensive code reviews and establish quality assurance processes.
- Participate in technical discussions or reviews as a technical consultant for feasibility studies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
Requirements
- At least 2-4 years of experience with LabVantage LIMS or similar LIMS systems.
- Experience in laboratory environments and understanding of laboratory workflows.
- Familiarity with LabVantage LIMS architecture and database schema.
- Experience with system integrations and data migrations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
