About the position

The Labor and Relations Business Partner at Veralto plays a crucial role in maintaining a positive employee and labor relations environment. Reporting to the Senior Director of North America Labor and Employee Relations, this position involves conducting complex investigations into employee relations matters, providing training and coaching, and serving as a strategic partner to business units. The role requires a strong background in Labor and Employee Relations, with a focus on resolving challenging issues and enhancing employee engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead highly complex and sensitive investigations into employee relations matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and policy violations.
  • Identify innovative solutions to business challenges by gathering and analyzing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing detailed investigation reports.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to management on appropriate resolution strategies and corrective actions.
  • Design best-in-class comprehensive training programs on topics such as conflict resolution and workplace conduct.
  • Customize training materials to meet the specific needs of different business units and employee groups.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives through feedback mechanisms and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Serve as a specialist on labor laws, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Provide guidance and support to management on labor relations issues, including union organizing campaigns and grievance resolution.
  • Assist in developing and implementing proactive strategies to maintain positive relationships with works councils and union representatives.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and HR partners to understand the unique challenges and opportunities within assigned business units.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner, offering insights and recommendations to enhance employee engagement, productivity, and retention.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging issues in labor and employee relations, and proactively share knowledge and expertise with internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in labor and employee relations roles, with a demonstrated track record of conducting complex investigations and delivering training programs.
  • Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as experience working with labor unions and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Professional certifications such as SPHR, PHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP are a plus.
