About the position

The Labor Relations Manager at TE Connectivity is responsible for developing and executing labor relations strategies that foster a positive workplace environment and enhance communication between management and employees. This role involves collaborating with HR partners, creating policies, designing training programs, conducting workplace assessments, and participating in contract negotiations. The manager will also present strategies to senior leadership and work on continuous improvement methodologies to adapt best practices to local realities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with HR Regional Partners to establish programs that enhance employee morale and encourage feedback and dialogue.
  • Create and review policies and practices that enhance employee relations, ensuring they align with best practices.
  • Design and implement training programs for management on effective communication, conflict resolution, and employee engagement.
  • Develop and execute labor relations strategies that promote a positive workplace environment and encourage open communication between management and employees.
  • Conduct regular assessments of the workplace environment, including monitoring employee sentiment and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Conduct focus groups, develop action plans, reporting, and KPIs, and build dashboards.
  • Present plans, actions, and strategies to senior leadership, translating complex problems into executive summaries and receiving feedback.
  • Work with TEOA continuous improvement methodology, partnering with other labor relations managers to create regional standards and adopt best practices.
  • Develop and implement strategies to address workplace concerns, fostering a culture of transparency and support.
  • Participate in contract negotiations, including the development of proposals and bargaining strategies.
  • Represent the company in meetings and negotiations with union leaders and other representatives.
  • Prepare negotiation strategies, administrate the budget for negotiations, ensure law compliance, and lead negotiations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in labor relations or employee relations.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective employee engagement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data related to employee relations and workplace trends.
  • Experience in training and coaching management teams on employee relations issues.
  • Effective balance between strategic and tactical implementation skills.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently under minor supervision.
