About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Labor and Employment Paralegal to join our legal team in Alhambra, CA. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys in various aspects of employment law, including litigation, compliance, and case management. This position requires a strong understanding of employment law concepts and regulations, as well as excellent organizational and time management skills. The paralegal will be responsible for assisting attorneys with the preparation of legal documents, conducting legal research, and maintaining case files. The role demands a proactive approach to managing deadlines and ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up to date. The successful candidate will also be involved in drafting correspondence, communicating with clients and witnesses, and assisting in the investigation of facts and evidence related to employment law cases. This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday to Friday, requiring a commitment to work no less than 80 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with the preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Conduct legal research on employment law issues, regulations, and case law.
  • Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare summaries of depositions, interviews, and other legal proceedings.
  • Draft correspondence and communicate with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel.
  • Assist in the investigation of facts and evidence related to employment law cases.
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure timely filing of documents with courts and agencies.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in paralegal studies or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in employment law.
  • Strong understanding of employment law concepts and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4 years of experience in employment & labor law (Preferred)
