About the position

HM.CLAUSE is a Business Unit of Limagrain, an international agricultural co-operative founded and managed by farmers. The company specializes in the breeding, production, and sale of vegetable seeds, collaborating with customers to deliver successful solutions for agricultural challenges. The Labor & Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring that contract and seasonal labor needs align with the expectations of the breeding, research staff, and operations team at the research station. This position requires minimal supervision to ensure that crop protocols and management procedures are adhered to, while also assisting in measuring and monitoring key performance metrics related to the quality and productivity of the station's phytosanitary program. In terms of planning and strategy, the coordinator will conduct weekly labor meetings with members of the research and breeding teams to ensure the success of programs. They will forecast weekly labor needs and collaborate with others to achieve desired outcomes efficiently. Scheduling labor needs utilizing R&D tools and software will be essential, as will participating in periodic crop walks with the Station Manager to review crop progress and develop plans to address any variances or opportunities. The coordinator will also support the development of a cross-training program for seasonal employees to enhance the overall quality of work. The role includes responsibilities in station and organizational development, where the coordinator will actively support the station's Illness and Injury Prevention Plan, assist with new employee safety training, and promote a culture of continuous improvement. Participation in weekly staff meetings to share progress and discuss opportunities for improvement is expected, along with providing training and development opportunities for all staff members. The coordinator will also work with the R&D Site Manager to develop and implement improvement initiatives. In terms of human resources support, the coordinator will assist in station recruitment, new hire onboarding, site-specific training, and employee relations. They will coordinate trainings, maintain accurate records, and participate in safety audits throughout the year. Attendance at annual meetings for updates on Safety & Human Resource policies and best practices is also required.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • BS degree in Agriculture or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years general farming vegetables experience.
  • 2+ years experience with crew supervision preferred.
  • Experience scheduling employees on a weekly basis.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
