The Labor Relations and HR Compliance Senior Specialist at Regions Hospital plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's labor relations and human resources compliance strategy. This position involves advising on labor relations issues, overseeing grievance processes, and ensuring compliance with various regulatory bodies. The specialist acts as a strategic HR Business Partner, conducting workplace investigations and collaborating with union representatives and legal counsel.

Responsibilities

  • Advises and assists employers on labor relations issues, union collective bargaining agreement interpretation, and collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Oversees, facilitates, and responds to grievance processes.
  • Maintains human resources standard compliance and policies related to regulatory bodies such as Joint Commission, CMS, and others.
  • Designs and drives HR strategies to support organizational goals and conducts workplace issue investigations.
  • Partners with union representatives and legal counsel to address collective bargaining agreement-related issues.
  • Acts as a resource for leaders and colleagues regarding labor relations and HR issues.
  • Participates in leadership meetings as a member of the Human Resources leadership team.
  • Engages in other human resources activities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, industrial relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional Human Resources experience.
  • Previous experience with labor relations in both union and non-union environments.
  • Experience in a hospital regulatory compliance/Joint Commission environment.
