About the position

The Laboratory Assistant in Chemical and Biological Engineering at Villanova University will support Dr. Laura Bracaglia in her research program, focusing on material development and drug delivery experiments. This role involves a balance of research and administrative tasks, contributing to the synthesis of polymers, characterization of nanoparticles, and maintaining cell cultures, while also managing supplies and compliance documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in synthesizing polymers and formulating nanoparticles.
• Maintain cell cultures and conduct assays using flow cytometry and microscopy.
• Analyze data to describe cell-nanoparticle interactions.
• Manage administrative duties to sustain the research program, including purchasing supplies and maintaining equipment.
• Prepare research findings for peer-reviewed journals and presentations.
• Collaborate with the research team to share progress and inspire new ideas.
• Perform other duties and assist with projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Material Science, or related field.
• Undergraduate lab experience.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a productive manner.
• Basic lab experience at the undergraduate level.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
