About the position
The Laboratory Coordinator for the College of Science, Engineering & Technology's Biological Sciences Department at Minnesota State University, Mankato, is responsible for supervising and mentoring graduate-level Teaching Assistants, managing laboratory classrooms, and teaching laboratory sections. Responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor, and train graduate-level Teaching Assistants in Biological Sciences laboratory sections.
- Recommend and assist in the creation and updating of laboratory exercises and student requirements.
- Oversee the management and maintenance of laboratory classrooms, including supplies and equipment.
- Teach laboratory sections in Biological Sciences and provide advice to students.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed in the laboratory.
Requirements
- Master's Degree or higher in Biological Sciences, Microbiology, or a sub-discipline of Biology.
- Minimum one year of experience, which may include related graduate/teaching assistantship.
- Experience teaching undergraduate Biological Sciences and/or microbiology labs at a College or University.
Nice-to-haves

- Strong background or experience in General Biology.
- Strong background or experience in Microbiology.
- Knowledge of experimental procedures and design related to microbiology.
- Experience with basic chemical solution preparation and culture media preparation.
