The Laboratory Administrator position is primarily responsible for supporting the laboratory operations throughout ATI Millersburg's Analytical laboratory. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth functioning of laboratory activities and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and communication. The Laboratory Administrator will report directly to the Analytical Laboratory Leader and will collaborate with other laboratory leaders to address various operational needs. This position is designed to be weekend-inclusive, necessitating work on Saturdays and Sundays, along with three additional days during the week. The successful candidate will be expected to manage a variety of tasks that are essential for the laboratory's efficiency and effectiveness. Key responsibilities include entering incoming samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), assisting lab customers with their testing requests, and purchasing necessary consumables and parts for laboratory testing. The Laboratory Administrator will also be tasked with driving improvements in documenting laboratory and lab office procedures, utilizing their technical skills to identify problems and implement effective solutions. Reporting data to laboratory customers and operating various analytical laboratory equipment, including Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES), are also critical components of this role. Additionally, the position involves performing laboratory-specific maintenance tasks to ensure all equipment is functioning optimally. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and strong communication skills, as the Laboratory Administrator will need to effectively communicate both technical and non-technical information to a diverse audience. The ability to work collaboratively with internal and external customers is essential, as is the capacity to evaluate and prioritize tasks effectively. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision, while also being familiar with lean manufacturing principles, which is preferred but not mandatory.
