About the position

The Laboratory Operations Associate will serve as the primary contact for laboratory staff, coordinating daily laboratory needs and supporting lab environments. This role involves collaboration with various teams to ensure seamless lab support services, manage inventory, and maintain safe lab practices while adhering to Good Documentation Practice (GDP) and 5S lean methodology.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main contact for lab staff, addressing daily needs and requests.
• Regularly update lab users on service work and coordinate vendor maintenance visits.
• Monitor lab inventory levels and coordinate restocking needs for items such as glassware, PPE, and consumables.
• Assist in waste removal, coordinating with third-party vendors for hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams.
• Engage with customer safety representatives to maintain high safety standards and ensure compliance within lab protocols.
• Facilitate meetings and communicate updates effectively with lab users, management, and support teams.
• After certification, organize and maintain a 5S lean working environment.
• Complete paperwork following Good Documentation Practice (GDP) standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of customer-facing experience
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
• Strong customer service abilities, excellent verbal and written communication
• Ability to read chemical labels, follow documentation practices, and maintain safety standards.

Nice-to-haves

• 2+ years in a scientific environment
• Professional certification or associate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Project Management, Six Sigma, Supply Chain)
• Experience with GLP/GxP compliance and 5S principles
