About the position

The Laboratory Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring that all processes are efficient and compliant with regulatory standards. This role requires a strong background in medical technology and laboratory science, as well as proven leadership skills to manage a team of laboratory professionals. The manager will be responsible for maintaining high standards of quality in testing and ensuring that all laboratory personnel are adequately trained and equipped to perform their duties. The position involves strategic planning to improve laboratory services, implementing new technologies, and ensuring that the laboratory meets all accreditation requirements. The Laboratory Operations Manager will also be involved in budgeting, resource allocation, and performance evaluations of laboratory staff. This is a critical role that requires a balance of technical expertise and managerial skills to drive the laboratory towards excellence in patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily laboratory operations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage and lead laboratory staff, providing training and performance evaluations.
  • Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards in testing.
  • Develop and manage budgets for laboratory operations.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient workflow and communication.
  • Stay updated on advancements in laboratory technology and integrate them into operations.
  • Ensure that all laboratory personnel are properly trained and certified.

Requirements

  • Must have a MT or MLS with ASCP or AMT certification.
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in high complexity testing.
  • Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical or biological science.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least 3 years of leadership experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • MT or MLS certification clearly stated on the resume.
  • Generalist experience in laboratory operations.
