About the position
The Construction Materials Testing Laboratory Supervisor at Intertek in Tukwila, Washington, is responsible for overseeing laboratory testing programs and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role involves performing various tests on construction materials, managing laboratory operations, and communicating results effectively to team members and clients. Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop laboratory testing programs and enter data from laboratory tests into reports.
- Perform laboratory equipment calibrations and track equipment maintenance.
- Understand ASTM standards, AASHTO, and USACE documentation.
- Conduct physical laboratory testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt according to ASTM procedures.
- Operate testing equipment and conduct geotechnical and construction materials laboratory testing.
- Interpret and communicate test procedures, specifications, and results with team members and clients.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a construction material testing laboratory.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to lift, move, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently.
Nice-to-haves
- Associate degree from a technical or four-year school.
- ACI Certifications - Concrete Strength, Aggregate Base, Aggregate Testing, Concrete Field-Testing.
- Nuclear Density Gauge Operator Certificate.
- WABO Lab Supervisor Certificate.
