About the position

The QA Lab Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a team of specialized union employees in a laboratory setting, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and safe operating procedures. This role involves managing laboratory operations, conducting safety audits, and participating in continuous improvement activities to enhance quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Direct a team of specialized union employees in the QA lab.
• Manage shift laboratory operations, including employee compliance and work assignments.
• Oversee data systems for reporting and analyzing lab activities.
• Conduct regular shift meetings on safety, production, and quality.
• Review procedures to identify areas for improvement and waste reduction.
• Ensure completion of quality and safety documentation as per requirements.
• Conduct safety audits and participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
• Perform duties for Certificate of Analysis (COA) as needed on a backup basis.
• Develop and maintain a positive working climate within the team.
• Work effectively in a multi-tasking environment and interact positively with corporate and management teams.

Requirements

• 3 or more years of experience in a quality assurance position.
• 1-3 years of leadership experience in a union environment preferred.
• Experience in a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or Food Manufacturing environment required.
• High school degree or equivalent is required.
• BS/BA degree in a related field from an accredited college/university preferred.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays if necessary.
