About The Position

The QA Lab Supervisor at ASR Group is responsible for overseeing a team of specialized union employees to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and safe operating procedures. This role involves managing laboratory operations, ensuring quality and safety documentation is completed, and fostering a positive work environment while achieving strategic goals in quality assurance.

Requirements

• 3 or more years of experience in a quality assurance position.
• 1-3 years of leadership experience in a union environment preferred.
• Experience in a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or Food Manufacturing environment is required.
• High school degree or equivalent is required; BS/BA degree in a related field preferred.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong organization, planning, and decision-making abilities.
• Demonstrated understanding of sound Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) practices and experience with quality systems (ISO, SQF, etc.).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and database management, particularly in Microsoft applications such as SharePoint, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Knowledge of food product packaging operations.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise a team of specialized union employees in a laboratory setting.
• Manage shift laboratory operations, including employee compliance with procedures and resolving employee issues.
• Oversee data systems used for reporting and analyzing lab activities.
• Conduct regular shift meetings to discuss safety, production, quality, and other important information.
• Review procedures to identify areas for improvement and waste reduction, and communicate results effectively to production teams.
• Ensure completion and delivery of all required quality and safety documentation according to department and company standards.
• Conduct safety audits and participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
• Perform duties for Certificate of Analysis (COA) as needed on a backup basis.
• Develop and maintain a positive working climate by fostering teamwork.
• Work effectively in a multi-tasking environment and interact positively with corporate and facility management teams.
