About the position
The Laboratory Technician Aide I position at the Ocean County Utilities Authority involves performing laboratory analyses and completing analytical work for reports to state and federal regulatory agencies. This role is essential for maintaining compliance with environmental regulations and ensuring the quality of wastewater treatment processes.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a proper log of all analytical work performed and keep current computer data entry of all analytical and quality control work performed.
- Assist the Laboratory Supervisor with the ordering and preparation of chemicals, reagents, and supplies.
- Maintain laboratory and field equipment.
- Conduct regular rotations to wastewater treatment facilities in Brick, NJ and West Creek, NJ.
Requirements
- Minimum of Associate's degree with a concentration in biology, chemistry, or a directly-related field.
- At least one year of experience in performing laboratory tests, preferably in the field of wastewater treatment.
- Thorough knowledge of biological and chemical processes.
- Familiarity with current approved methodologies and procedures as set by regulatory agencies.
- Familiarity with the chemical hygiene plan and adherence to all safety protocols.
