About the position
The Laboratory Technician Aide I at the Ocean County Utilities Authority is responsible for conducting laboratory analyses and completing analytical work necessary for compliance with state and federal regulations. This role involves maintaining accurate records of laboratory work, assisting in the preparation of chemicals and supplies, and ensuring the proper functioning of laboratory equipment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a proper log of all analytical work performed and keep current computer data entry of all analytical and quality control work performed.
- Assist the Laboratory Supervisor with the ordering and preparation of chemicals, reagents and supplies and the maintenance of laboratory and field equipment.
- Regular rotations to wastewater treatment facilities in Brick, NJ and West Creek, NJ.
Requirements
- Minimum of Associate's degree with a concentration in biology, chemistry, or a directly-related field.
- At least one year experience in performing laboratory tests, preferably in the field of wastewater treatment.
- Thorough knowledge of biological and chemical processes.
- Familiarity with current approved methodologies and procedures as set by regulatory agencies.
- Familiarity with the chemical hygiene plan and adherence to all safety protocols.
