About the position

This role is pivotal in providing operational support to the BostonGene laboratory by managing biospecimen inventory, reagent control, and instrument quality control (QC) in alignment with CAP/CLIA and GCLP standards. The position involves maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring compliance with laboratory protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in CLIA/CAP and GCLP documentation and paperwork, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for electronic tracking of batch records for reagents.
  • Track and receive reagents and consumables, managing inventory levels effectively.
  • Collaborate with the lab manager and purchasing department to order reagent lots and set up standing orders.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and coordinate preventative maintenance with vendors under the guidance of the lab manager.
  • Quarantine reagents with new lot numbers and facilitate reagent equivalency validations.
  • Work closely with the Quality Management System (QMS) team to monitor reagent quality and health.
  • Maintain and organize SOPs electronically, undertake routine clerical tasks including data input and record keeping.
  • Adhere to laboratory environmental health and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with immunology and flow cytometry laboratory SOPs and protocols is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing laboratory SOPs.
  • Ability to maintain meticulous records and manage inventory efficiently.
  • Capable of communicating clearly and collaboratively with colleagues and cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to shifting priorities.
  • Proactive and self-driven, with a strong sense of accountability and teamwork.
  • Capacity to troubleshoot issues independently and propose solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in biology, clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a clinical or research laboratory setting.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to evolving laboratory practices.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and perform repetitive tasks inherent to laboratory work.
