About the position

The Laboratory Technician position at Coordinated Care Health Solutions involves working in a clinical microbiology lab that provides a variety of testing services. The role is essential for ensuring accurate testing and documentation to evaluate patients' health and compliance with prescribed treatments. The technician will work in a supportive environment with state-of-the-art equipment, contributing to the laboratory's operations from Tuesday to Saturday.

Responsibilities

• Preparing cultures by inoculation for the detection of yeast, fungal, and bacterial pathogens for isolation.
• Conducting Identification/Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing.
• Maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies, including environmental monitoring and equipment maintenance.
• Cleaning of laminar flow hood and proper disposal of samples.
• Responsible for the day-to-day operations of laboratory equipment.
• Adhering to the laboratory's SOPs and maintaining compliance with CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Reporting deficiencies for quality assurance and controls in the microbiology lab.
• Communicating effectively with laboratory staff, clients, and customers regarding lab tests and results.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Medical Technology, or Medical Laboratory Technician with appropriate education and experience as required by CLIA.
• 3 years of clinical microbiology experience, specifically with urine culture.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and CLIA guidelines and regulations.
• Punctual, dependable, and a team player.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
