Responsibilities

  • Promote a positive and cooperative working environment among colleagues.
  • Ensure specimens are collected and handled in accordance with laboratory guidelines and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely specimen handling.
  • Support organizational priorities and maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Develop and maintain competence in laboratory protocols and procedures.
  • Organize and prioritize workload to ensure efficient and effective specimen collection and processing.
  • Responsible for specimen accessioning, packaging, and transport.
  • Demonstrate proper infection control practices and patient identification procedures.
  • Collect and process drug screen samples as assigned.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to patients and healthcare providers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Basic computer skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals or previous phlebotomy experience
  • Experience working in a clinical setting
