Responsibilities
- Promote a positive and cooperative working environment among colleagues.
- Ensure specimens are collected and handled in accordance with laboratory guidelines and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely specimen handling.
- Support organizational priorities and maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Develop and maintain competence in laboratory protocols and procedures.
- Organize and prioritize workload to ensure efficient and effective specimen collection and processing.
- Responsible for specimen accessioning, packaging, and transport.
- Demonstrate proper infection control practices and patient identification procedures.
- Collect and process drug screen samples as assigned.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to patients and healthcare providers.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Basic computer skills
Nice-to-haves
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals or previous phlebotomy experience
- Experience working in a clinical setting
