About The Position

The Laborer - Cemetery (PT) position at Provo City Corporation involves maintaining the cemetery throughout the year, regardless of weather conditions. Requirements

• Any training or experience that demonstrates an ability to perform the work.
• Physical strength and agility to perform the work.
• Ability to follow directions and communicate with the public in a courteous manner.
• Knowledge of the safe use of hand tools and equipment required by the position.

Responsibilities

• Mow grounds by hand or with power mowers.
• Use power string trimmers.
• Install and maintain sprinkler systems, including affixing and setting sprinkler heads.
• Assist in maintaining shrubs and flower beds.
• Perform general construction and maintenance work on buildings in the cemetery, including plumbing and painting.
• Operate heavy equipment, such as trucks and specialized cemetery maintenance equipment.
• Use various hand and power tools in performance of heavy manual labor.
• Maintain tools and equipment and perform other related duties as required.
