About the position
The Laborer/Non-CDL Driver position at WM involves safely operating a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on designated routes. This role is essential for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle while adhering to all relevant regulations and company expectations. The position emphasizes teamwork, communication, and efficiency in route management.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a heavy-duty truck on designated routes.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
- Report any unsafe situations or service calls to the Route Manager or Dispatch.
- Participate in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required.
- Work closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify unsafe accounts.
- Assist other company drivers as directed by the Route Manager or Dispatch.
- Notify the Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
- Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Route Manager.
- Ensure all containers are completely dumped and the customer location is clean.
- Position containers properly on the customer's property and ensure lids are replaced correctly.
- Follow route assignments and complete all documentation at the end of the route.
Requirements
- Current state-issued standard Drivers License
- Acceptable driving record required.
