About the position
The Laborer/Non-CDL Driver at Waste Management is responsible for safely operating a heavy-duty truck on designated routes, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company standards. This role involves performing vehicle inspections, reporting issues, and maintaining cleanliness at customer locations while providing essential waste management services.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a heavy-duty truck on designated routes.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
- Report any unsafe situations or service calls to the Route Manager or Dispatch.
- Participate in scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required.
- Work closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify unsafe accounts.
- Assist other company drivers as directed by Route Manager or Dispatch.
- Notify Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
- Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Route Manager.
- Ensure all containers are completely dumped and the customer location is clean.
- Position containers properly on customer property and ensure lids are replaced correctly.
- Follow route assignments and complete all documentation at the end of the route.
Requirements
- Current state-issued standard Drivers License
- Acceptable driving record required.
