About the position

As a Laborer on the Telecom Underground team at CableCom, you will engage in various phases of underground construction, including loading, delivery, digging, and equipment operation. This role is essential for the installation and maintenance of underground telecommunications cabling, ensuring safe and efficient operations in both congested and remote areas.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of underground construction including loading, driving, delivery, digging, and removal of construction materials.
• Hand dig using shovel and mechanical tools.
• Install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling.
• Climb into and out of equipment such as trucks, cars, backhoes, and trenchers.
• Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery.
• Maintain visual and audible contact with crew members and moving or stationary objects to ensure safety.
• Perform general construction work under the direction of the Foreman/Supervisor.
• Flagging and property or worksite restoration.
• Maintain safe working habits and conditions according to regulations and policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam resulting in a valid medical card.
• Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment safely.
• Basic knowledge of and ability to use hand tools and equipment safely.
• Effective communication skills with customers and employees.
• Regular and timely attendance is essential.
