About the position

Sonic Reference Laboratory (SRL) is excited to announce an opening for a LabWare LIMS Developer based in Bastrop, Texas. This position is part of Sonic Clinical Trials (SCT), a leading provider of laboratory services that supports pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device clinical trials. As a growing company, SCT is looking for a LIMS Developer to contribute to the ongoing development of their centralized Clinical Trials Management System, which is essential for their global operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, ideally in Science, Engineering, or Information Technology, and will have the ability to translate business requirements into technical designs using the LabWare LIMS application. In this role, the LIMS Developer will work closely with the SCT Systems team to enhance and develop the Clinical Trials Management System. This includes collaborating with various business units to define objectives and requirements that align with current and evolving business needs. The developer will also engage with SCT teams located in Australia, Europe, and the US to implement global solutions, ensuring that the systems are robust and meet the diverse needs of the organization. The position requires providing support for application issues, logging incidents with the LabWare helpdesk, and identifying appropriate system solutions for business requirements and incidents. The LIMS Developer will be responsible for administering functional updates to systems, including the migration of new or enhanced configurations and module changes between development, testing, and production environments. Additionally, the role involves liaising with IT to ensure adequate infrastructure and database support, as well as implementing updates and enhancements in accordance with the defined System Development Lifecycle methodology and Change Control procedures. Responsibilities

  • Enhance and develop the Clinical Trials Management System as a member of the SCT Systems team.
  • Collaborate with the business to define objectives and requirements based on current and evolving business needs.
  • Work with SCT teams in Australia, Europe, and the US to implement global solutions.
  • Provide support for application issues and log incidents with the LabWare helpdesk as necessary.
  • Identify and implement appropriate system solutions for business requirements and incidents.
  • Use issue-tracking software to assign, track, and manage ongoing development.
  • Administer functional updates to systems, including migration of new/enhanced configuration and module changes between development, testing, and production environments.
  • Liaise with IT to ensure adequate infrastructure and database support.
  • Implement updates and enhancements in accordance with the defined System Development Lifecycle methodology and Change Control procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of substantial experience using LabWare LIMS in a similar environment.
  • SQL experience.
  • Experience using Crystal Reports.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in an organized and methodical manner.
  • Positive and 'can do' attitude.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently as required.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.
  • Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.
  • Willingness to work occasionally outside of normal business hours.
  • Good IT skills and experience of using various software packages.
