About the position
Lake Compounce is seeking Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) for seasonal positions to provide health and medical services in a prehospital setting at the amusement park located in Bristol, Connecticut. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe and healthy environment for both guests and employees. EMTs will work various shifts, including days, evenings, and holidays, scheduled from Sunday through Saturday to align with the park's operational needs. Under limited supervision, EMTs will be responsible for delivering competent medical care, maintaining the first aid room, and ensuring that all equipment is safe and clean. The position requires a commitment to ongoing education and training, as well as the ability to respond efficiently to emergency calls, providing immediate care to critically ill and injured individuals within the scope of practice. In addition to direct patient care, EMTs will document patient information, maintain confidentiality, and interact with guests and team members using strong customer service skills. The role also involves reporting observations and emergency medical care provided at the scene, ensuring quality health services, and performing other assigned duties as necessary. Responsibilities
- Attends continuing education and refresher training programs as required by employers, medical direction, licensing or certifying agencies
- Demonstrated ability to implement clinical care in accordance with outlined policies and procedures
- Ensures that the first aid room and equipment is safe, clean, washed and kept in a neat orderly condition
- Maintains first aid rooms in efficient operating condition
- Reports verbally and in writing their observation and emergency medical care of the patient at the emergency scene for purposes of records and diagnostics
- Identifies assessment findings, which may require communications with medical direction for advice and for notification that special professional services and assistance be immediately available upon arrival at the medical facility
- Assist in moving patients
- Responds to emergency calls to provide efficient and immediate care to the critically ill and injured (within scope of practice)
- Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals utilizing customer service skills
- Encourages a safe, pleasant work environment for Team Members
- Maintains appropriate documentation of patient care, incident reports and other necessary reports
- Ensures quality health and medical care for guests and employees at assigned locations
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors
- Examine and evaluate patients to determine necessary care
- Document patient information, condition, and treatment
- Maintain patient confidentiality and perform all care with respect for patient rights
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) required
- Previous field, ambulance and/or hospital experience required
- Valid State of CT Driver's License
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT): State of Connecticut (required), NREMT (preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
