The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is seeking a LAN Administrator (Information Systems Specialist 4) to provide technical support and user assistance for internal users. This role involves managing computer hardware, software, mobile devices, and network connectivity, while also contributing to the agency's mission of preserving and enhancing Oregon's environment. The position is based in Portland, Oregon, and requires a commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide service desk user support and technical assistance to DEQ's internal users.
  • Manage and resolve issues related to stand-alone computer hardware, software, and mobile devices.
  • Coordinate implementation of technical solutions and provide training to users.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Analyze and diagnose user problems, implementing effective solutions.

Requirements

  • 3 years of information systems experience, OR an Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field and 1 year of information systems experience.
  • Experience providing technical consultation and advice to managers and IT staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Active Directory and user account management.
  • Experience with Windows Server file structure administration and support desk tracking software.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
