About the position

The LAN VoIP Network Specialist II Senior position at CDO Technologies is a critical role focused on providing voice systems maintenance and support for the 844th Communication Group (CG). This position requires a deep understanding of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and its components, as well as the ability to install, configure, administer, manage, and maintain these systems. The specialist will be responsible for ensuring that the entire voice solution complies with all DISA STIGs and AF TCNOs by implementing necessary firmware, software, and hardware changes. In this role, the specialist will provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for voice systems, ensuring comprehensive customer IT support that includes transitioning, operating, maintaining, restoring, protecting, backing up, and refreshing CUCM telephony and all associated infrastructure systems. The specialist will also be tasked with keeping all components of the CUCM systems updated to meet or exceed industry standards, providing emergency voice LAN troubleshooting assistance, and conducting routine network troubleshooting and maintenance. Additionally, the specialist will prepare and maintain project planning documentation, create and maintain LAN/voice network maps and diagrams, and input relevant information into network monitoring tools. The role also involves integrating various voice services, supporting decommissioning of legacy telephony technologies, and providing training as requested. This position is located at Joint Base Andrews, MD, and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering superior customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for Voice systems.
  • Ensure the entire voice solution complies with all DISA STIGs and AF TCNOs by implementing firmware, software and hardware changes as necessary.
  • Install, configure, administer, manage, maintain/update and provide maintenance and operational support for the Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and its components.
  • Deliver comprehensive customer IT support including transitioning, operating, maintaining, restoring, protecting, backups and refreshing CUCM telephony and associated infrastructure systems.
  • Ensure all components of the CUCM systems are kept updated to meet or exceed industry standards and are fully functional.
  • Provide emergency voice LAN troubleshooting assistance within 30 minutes of notification and resolve any emergency voice outage within two hours of notification.
  • Provide routine network troubleshooting and maintenance within the guidelines of the Government's Authorized Service Interruption (ASI) process.
  • Prepare and maintain project planning documentation, create and maintain LAN/voice network maps/diagrams and input all relevant information into network monitoring tools.
  • Conduct research and load applicable software, hardware, or firmware updates to voice equipment and install new equipment.
  • Use Government provided ticket system to process, log and close out trouble tickets, change requests and work-orders.
  • Support traditional telephony operations including time division multiplex switching, ISDN trunking, and Defense Switched Network (DSN) operations.
  • Integrate all relevant voice services including conference call hosting, voicemail, Call Center Capabilities, Emergency 911 services, and DHCP with the CUCM.
  • Ensure all voice equipment complies with AF Enterprise CM Policies and is listed on relevant inventories.
  • Support decommissioning of legacy telephony technologies and migration to IP-based telephony.
  • Provide training as requested.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in network administration in a network/voice support environment.
  • Security+ certification.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) with Voice Over IP experience (CCNP Voice or Collaboration) and maintain valid CCNP credentials.
  • Secret Security Clearance.
