David Weekley Homes is seeking a Land Acquisition Manager to join our Austin team. This role is pivotal in driving our land acquisition strategy and requires a candidate with a minimum of 3 years of experience in residential land acquisitions, analysis, development, or brokerage, specifically within the Austin area. The successful candidate will work closely with Area & Division Presidents and the Vice President of Land to assess the feasibility of potential land purchases, ensuring that our acquisitions align with the company's strategic goals. In this position, you will manage the entire process of entitlement and site selection, including due diligence review, underwriting, and obtaining necessary approvals for proposed new land acquisitions. Networking is a key component of this role; you will be expected to build and maintain relationships with developers, brokers, landowners, and other builders to identify new land opportunities for David Weekley Homes. Your visibility in the home building business will be crucial, as you will actively participate in community, civic, and business organizations relevant to the industry. Additionally, you will oversee the development of active projects from acquisition to lot delivery, specifically focusing on projects that are 100% owned by the company. Each newly presented opportunity will require your evaluation to determine how it fits within the David Weekley Homes business plan. The ideal candidate will demonstrate considerable initiative, independence, and intuition, along with effective organizational, prioritization, and communication skills. You should be driven to achieve results with a sense of urgency while maintaining a focus on the details that contribute to the successful development of communities.
