About the position

The Land Acquisition Manager is responsible for acquiring and managing properties that align with the organization's strategic objectives. This role involves researching prospective properties, negotiating with owners, conducting due diligence, and collaborating with internal teams to secure successful acquisitions. Additionally, the Land Acquisition Manager manages land use planning, resolves zoning issues, and ensures adherence to regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Independently negotiate land acquisitions, perform detailed land use and financial analysis, and finalize purchase agreements.
• Lead due diligence efforts, including concept land planning, environmental assessments, utility evaluations, and title reviews.
• Stay deal-focused and navigate the complexities of the local land market in the current real estate climate.
• Analyze asset disposition strategies, including opportunities for excess land and Build-to-Rent projects.

Requirements

• Strong background in land planning, zoning, real estate, and/or law.
• Proven ability to identify market trends and adjust acquisition strategies accordingly.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or Business (preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in residential construction, with a focus on Single-Family and/or Multi-Family Land Acquisitions.
• Demonstrated success in residential land acquisition for single-family or in-fill projects, with the ability to navigate the unique challenges of the local market.
• Highly organized, with strong analytical abilities and expertise in complex financial analysis.
