About the position

David Weekley Homes is seeking a Land Acquisition Manager to join our Nashville team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in residential land acquisition, analysis, development, or brokerage within the Nashville Metro area. This role is pivotal in assessing the feasibility of potential land purchases and managing the entire process from entitlement and site selection to due diligence review, underwriting, and approvals for proposed new land acquisitions. In this position, you will work collaboratively with the Land Manager, as well as the Regional and Division President, to ensure that all land acquisition activities align with the company's strategic goals. You will be responsible for networking with developers, brokers, landowners, and other builders to identify new land opportunities for David Weekley Homes. Maintaining a high level of visibility in the home building business is essential, and you will actively participate in community, civic, and business organizations relevant to the industry. Additionally, you will manage and oversee the development of active projects from acquisition to lot delivery, ensuring that all projects are 100% owned by the company. Evaluating each newly presented opportunity will be crucial, as you will need to assess how these opportunities fit within the David Weekley Homes business plan. The successful candidate will demonstrate considerable initiative, independence, and intuition, along with excellent organizational, prioritization, and communication skills. A strong ability to influence external stakeholders and a professional demeanor are also key attributes for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with Land Manager and Regional and Division President to assess feasibility of potential land purchases.
  • Manage entitlement and site selection, due diligence review, underwriting, and approvals for proposed new land acquisitions.
  • Network with developers, brokers, landowners, and other builders to determine new land opportunities for David Weekley Homes.
  • Maintain visibility in the home building business by participating in community, civic, and business organizations relevant to the industry.
  • Manage and oversee the development of active projects from acquisition to lot delivery (100% owned projects).
  • Evaluate newly presented opportunities to assess alignment with David Weekley Homes business plan.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in residential land acquisition, analysis, development, or brokerage within the Nashville Metro area.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Proficient in interpreting and analyzing financial reports.
  • Confident with numbers and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence external stakeholders with tempered assertiveness.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
