About the position

David Weekley Homes is seeking a Land Acquisition Manager to join their Minneapolis team. This role involves managing the acquisition of residential land, conducting feasibility assessments, and overseeing the development of projects from acquisition to lot delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in land acquisition and a deep understanding of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with Land Manager and Regional and Division President to assess the feasibility of potential land purchases.
  • Manage entitlement and site selection, due diligence review, underwriting, and approvals for proposed new land acquisitions.
  • Network with developers, brokers, landowners, and other builders to determine new land opportunities for DWH.
  • Maintain a high level of visibility in the home building business, actively participating in community, civic, and business organizations pertinent to the industry.
  • Manage and oversee the development of active projects from acquisition to lot delivery (100% owned projects).
  • Visit each newly presented opportunity and evaluate how this opportunity fits with DWH business plan.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in residential land acquisition, analysis, development, or brokerage experience within the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Excellent work practices with respect to organization, prioritization, and communication.
  • Proficient in interpreting and analyzing financial reports.
  • Confident with numbers and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
