D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder in the U.S., is seeking a Land Acquisition Project Manager to oversee the management of a site from pre-acquisition through to the construction of homes. This role is critical in ensuring that all property documents comply with company standards and that any concerns are promptly communicated to management along with potential solutions. The Land Acquisition Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all due diligence work is completed before the expiration of the contingency period and the submission date for the Land Acquisition Proforma (LAP). This includes creating, reviewing, and maintaining all due diligence property documents and reports. In addition to document management, the Land Acquisition Project Manager will coordinate information sharing and work distribution among various departments, including Land Development, Acquisitions, Construction, Sales, and Marketing. Site inspections will be a key responsibility, allowing the manager to assess project status, progress, and risk management effectively. The role also involves maintaining oversight of budgets and development schedules, ensuring that updates are communicated effectively. The Land Acquisition Project Manager will coordinate and communicate with primary engineers and other consultants, maintain community opening schedules, and manage projections based on acquisition and development status. This position requires planning, directing, and managing the activities of the Entitlements staff and Land staff, as well as coordinating with consultants and municipal staff. The manager will also be responsible for reviewing development agreements and impact fee audits, zoning, and platting projects. The ability to travel overnight is essential for this role, as it may require site visits and meetings with various stakeholders.
