About the position

The Land Clearing and Forestry Operations Manager/Estimator is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of land clearing and forestry operations. This role involves developing and implementing strategic plans that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The manager will engage with clients and stakeholders, manage multiple projects, and lead operational teams while ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for land clearing and forestry operations.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of land clearing and forestry activities.
  • Allocate resources such as personnel, equipment, materials, and budgetary funds effectively.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, landowners, and government agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing land use and forestry practices.
  • Identify potential risks and hazards, implementing measures to mitigate them.
  • Establish and enforce quality control measures across all operational activities.
  • Provide leadership and support to operational teams and staff.
  • Facilitate training programs and professional development opportunities for staff members.
  • Develop and manage operational budgets and financial reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in forestry, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in land clearing, forestry operations, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of forestry principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Leadership qualities including integrity and adaptability.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
  • Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
