About the position
The Land Section Manager is responsible for overseeing the Real Estate Division within the Department of Technology, Management and Budget. This role involves directing professional staff in managing complex real estate transactions for properties owned by the State of Michigan. The manager will negotiate various real estate projects, provide expert guidance on policy implementation, and serve as the main liaison with state agencies and other governments.
Responsibilities
- Direct the activities of professional staff in the Real Estate Division.
- Manage complex real estate transactions including easements, licenses, and acquisitions.
- Negotiate real estate projects to serve the best interests of the State of Michigan.
- Provide expert guidance to staff on analysis and implementation of policies related to real estate.
- Act as the main liaison to other parties involved in real estate transactions.
- Conduct special real estate-related research projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
- Four years of professional experience, including two years at the experienced (P11) level or one year at the advanced (12) level.
- Alternate education and experience may substitute for the education and experience requirements.
Nice-to-haves
