Join our team and play a key role in keeping our parks safe and healthy for the community! The Land Stewardship Division within Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) is responsible for the maintenance and management of developed parks, natural areas, community gardens, and trails. We are a great team dedicated to helping park visitors connect with green spaces by providing programs and facilities that promote physical, mental, and social well-being. Our commitment to creating inclusive public spaces and building strong relationships with the community ensures that all residents feel safe and welcome. The Land Stewardship Division is seeking a Community Service Aide II (CSA II) to support its initiatives and programs through administrative and technical assistance. This role is primarily office-based but includes opportunities for fieldwork, focusing on database management and geographic information system (GIS) support. Under the guidance of senior staff, the CSA II will manage a variety of tasks from preparation to execution, ensuring the smooth operation and success of Land Stewardship's projects. Aligned with PP&R's commitment to building an anti-racist workplace, we are looking for individuals who are ready to engage in meaningful and transformative work. In this position, you will monitor and triage community feedback to determine requests that need to be forwarded to other workgroups, escalated to relevant staff, or saved to a report. You will provide project support for the Park Maintenance Review Project by overseeing the logistics of on-site park maintenance reviews, including scheduling, training, and day-of execution, as well as developing templates and entering data to complete reports. Additionally, you will coordinate with portable vendors and internal staff to assist with the Portable Toilet Project, managing spreadsheet data to inform portable operations and communicate relevant information across multiple workgroups and portable vendors.
